Sandra Zovko has always had her eye very much cast on the future of fashion. With her ability to spearhead trends and her affinity for garments featuring pattern, colour, and bold prints; this year she burst onto the fashion scene with her covetable new knitwear brand, Mila Zovko.
Sandra’s mother, the late Mila Zovko, and namesake of Sandra’s company; had a passion for knitting and spent most of Sandra’s childhood creating colourful, patterned sweaters for her family to wear. When she passed away, Sandra inherited her mom’s entire collection of knits and would often wear them out to parties and events while racking up the "where did you buy that?" question. It wasn’t long before Sandra, an economist by trade, started thinking about what it would take to reconstruct Mila’s intricately hand-knit sweaters for the masses.
Today, Mila Zovko’s artful designs are being warmly received by the industry and are about to become more readily available: In addition to boutiques in New York, LA, and Vancouver, the brand will be working with new retailers for spring, as well as debuting e-commerce at milazovko.com on August 5.
