Art Dealer's Modern-Native Mix in Canada


When discussing native art, the word traditional might come to mind. However, contemporary first-nations art dealer Douglas Reynolds of the Douglas Reynolds Gallery shows how well the historic art form fits into modern settings. This summer he plans to host an exhibition titled Modern Edge, which will showcase the evolution of Northwest coastal design. At home, his contemporary décor blends seamlessly with his personal art collection. 

Reynolds sold his previous condo unexpectedly, and the purchaser wanted most of the furnishings, so Reynolds started his house hunt with a clean slate. The first property he looked at was love at first sight. Reynolds says, "I knew I wanted it the moment I walked in, and have had no regrets since."
